Watching in the Night
With each of our kids, my wife has experienced Braxton-Hicks or false labor contractions in pregnancy. These contractions increase gradually, but inconsistently, in that season of end-times expectancy, near 40 weeks of days. The truth is, it's hard to distinguish false labor from labor until the baby begins to appear. If you haven't had kids, this won't make sense. The uncertainly of labor was especially apparent in our fourth. We suspected Braxton-Hicks until the end, where we found out false labor had been final labor!
Even when you see it coming, it's an unanticipated instant in time when it comes. It was an unanticipated instant when Joseph had to find shelter for Mary, although they had seen it coming for some time.
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Similar to His First Coming, Jesus has revealed that His Second Coming will be preceded by labor or travail on a global scale.
All these are the beginning of sorrows [travail].
For when they say, “Peace and safety [security]!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
Like it was at His first appearing, the instant of His second appearing will be proclaimed by an angel.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people."
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Not in Darkness
Is the dark night in this world about to dawn into the Day of the Lord? Like shepherds on the night Jesus was born, if we are awake and do not sleep, keeping watch in the night, we will not walk in darkness and the Day of His coming will not be as a thief.
I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
The people who walked in darkness
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has shined.
Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’
But to those not watching and not longing for His appearing, He will come as a thief.
Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
40 Weeks
In pregnancy, signs of labor increase as 40 weeks of days approach, and then the child appears. In the timeline of history (or His-Story), we are approaching 40 weeks of seven years, or Sabbatical 50th year Jubilees, since the Sabbatical Year when Jesus was crucified, rose again, and ascended into Heaven. All around us are signs of labor.
40 * (7 * 7 + 1) = 40 * 50 = 2000
If Jesus ascended in 30 AD, we are nearing 7 years from the end of 40 Sabbatical weeks.
No Peace & No Security
As a sign of labor leading to His coming, people will be talking about "peace and security". Recent and future worldwide (should I say world government?) conferences have focused on peace and security. But instead of global peace and security, sudden destruction will come.

Volcanoes & Earthquakes
Other signs of labor include cataclysmic events like volcanoes and earthquakes. These also are happening.

Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
The catastrophic climate change will come, but it's not what they think. Global government with its false peace and security will not be able to stop God's judgement. Only the Prince of Peace will create Peace on Earth's 7th Day.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Are you ready? Are you trusting in His sacrifice on the cross to save you from your sins, or relying on your own good works? We have all sinned and broken God's law. Don't delay in admitting your sin and giving your life to Jesus!
