Adar II

With the month of Adar II (what's Adar II?) here and [Small] Purim just around the corner, the definition of unwalled city is apparently under deliberation in Israel...

Rabbi Yosef ruled that Gaza is just another gentile city in our time – as-in they are currently without any permanent Jewish communities, so the soldiers will celebrate the holiday as if they were in an unwalled city

Magog Connection

The otherwise dry discussion brings to mind an obscure but consequential reference to unwalled villiages (H6519):

Ezekiel 38:11

You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’

Russian Colonel-General Vladimir Zarudnitsky has been quoted saying:

Bonus Material

Do I expect the Magog invasion on Purim, following a Hezbollah deadline, and during Ramadan, ending with the Great American Eclipse?  It is possible, and I believe the Lord's Appearing and the Rapture will happen first.  But next year could be unique...

2024 is not a leap year, and Small Purim is celebrated in Adar II instead of Adar I.  Next year (2025) will not only be a leap year, but a three-fold Purim because it occurs on a Sabbath.  This won't happen again until 2045.

Purim Meshulash, or the three-fold Purim, is a somewhat rare calendric occurrence  . . . celebrated over a period of three days.
