God's Calendar

69/70 Ratio

Ancient calendars used a 360-day year and it is still in use today as the commercial year.  Did the Flood cause Earth's orbital period to change?  It's possible that forces which produced cataclysmic changes in Earth's crust during the Flood also changed Earth's orbital period from the initial 360-day year to the current length of a year.

The unit of feet, passed down to the Greeks and Romans from the ancient Egyptians, appears to have been defined from a relationship between 360 and the current length of a Solar year.  If you're at the equator, a distance of 1/360 of Earth's circumference (1° of longitude) divided by the length of a year is 1000 feet.

Was the transition from a 360-day year to the current Solar year random or did God divinely ordain an exact ratio?

(69/70) / (360/365.24219) = 1.0000679

In fact, a 69/70 ratio almost exactly relates a 360-day year to the current Solar year with a discrepancy of 36 minutes.  There are multiple ways to measure a year and Earth's axial precession causes the length of a year to vary up to 30 minutes.  Accepting the current Mean Tropical Solar Year of 365.24219 days, which is based on a model, the 69/70 ratio is accurate to within 7 thousandths of 1 percent (70 ppm).  This is comparable to the tolerance of a quartz crystal oscillator used in a digital clock.  It's safe to say this 69/70 ratio could not occur by chance!

Using a higher accuracy value for the circumference of the Earth and an exact 69/70 ratio, it's possible to derive the length of 1 foot with accuracy near to one 10,000th of an inch.  This also could not occur by chance.  It might be evidence that the current Solar year has decayed from a more precise 69/70 ratio following the Flood.

62/70 Ratio

A 62/70 ratio closely relates the Full Moon Cycle (411.78443029 days) to the current Solar year.  A 69/70 ratio closely relates the Lunar Year (354.36707 days) to a 360-day year.  There is a half-day discrepancy in both Lunar ratios, which may relate to night-only observability of the Moon.  In any case, the Lunar ratios are accurate to at least 0.1%; a surprisingly close correlation.

Prophecy of 7 + 62 + 1 Weeks in Daniel

The 70 week prophecy shown by God to Daniel, where 69 weeks (7 weeks + 62 weeks) are decreed until Messiah, has an interesting correlation to both the 69/70 Solar year ratio and the 62/70 Lunar year ratio.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.

Dan 9:25 “Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.

Dan 9:26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

Which Command and What Year?

Depending on who you listen to, the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem might have been in 457 BC, 449 BC, or 444 BC.  One interesting result of these ratios is that no matter which calendar you happen to be using and which command event you use for a starting point, there are durations of either 62, 69, or 70 weeks of years pointing to significance right around the year that Jesus, Son of God, the Messiah was cut off, for you and I.

360-day Year 444 BC (69 * 7 * 360 days) - (444 - 1 year) 33 AD
Current Solar Year 449 BC (69 * 7 years) - (449 - 1 year) 35 AD
360-day Year 449 BC (70 * 7 * 360 days) - (449 - 1 year) 35 AD
411.78-day Lunar Cycle 457 BC (62 * 7 * 411.78443 days) - (457 - 1 year) 33 AD
Current Solar Year 457 BC (70 * 7 years) - (457 - 1 year) 34 AD
Why subtract 1 extra year?

In the Gregorian calendar system, there is no year zero.  The year following 1 BC is 1 AD.  Starting (or ending) at 1 instead of 0 makes sense when counting whole items.  If you have a basket of apples, the first is 1.  On the other hand, a ruler measures from 0. The span of time between events in two adjacent years (like 2 AD and 3 AD) could be anywhere from 0 to 2 years in length.  To simplify, we can treat years as a point in the middle of the year, but then we also need to subtract year zero.

Hopefully this clarifies the relationship between counting discrete items and measuring continuous length.  This is related to the reason digital systems often choose to count from 0 instead of 1.  Earth's Chandler Wobble has a period of 62 weeks: 433 days is the span of time between the start of day 1 and the start of day 434.

First Coming of Messiah and Final Week

Daniel received a prophecy of 70 weeks, but only 7 + 62 weeks were specified until the time Messiah was cut off -- the year He was crucified, buried, rose again, and ascended into Heaven, opening the door for you and I to enter eternal life.  The 70th week is coming in the future, a period known as the time of Jacob's Trouble, during which the Antichrist will initiate a 7 year covenant (or pact?).  After that final week, Messiah will return in the same way He departed, and set up His kingdom.

Daniel 9:27

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.

Second Coming of Messiah

When is the 70th week coming? Soon!  Based on verses about the Day of the Lord, there are hints given that Jesus Messiah will descend from Heaven to begin the millennial kingdom 2000 years or 2 days after he ascended into Heaven.  It's clear the 7th day of the Lord, the millennial kingdom, is exactly 1000 years.  Presumably, each of the 6 preceding days is also 1000 years.  In case we're not convinced, Peter states it clearly.

2 Peter 3:8

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Acts 1:10-11

And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

According to the modern calendar, which year did Jesus ascend into Heaven?  Historically, the exact year of Jesus' Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension is uncertain.  We can reliably estimate the date to within an error of about ± 2 years.  The traditional range of uncertainty is 30 AD to 34 AD (32±2 AD).  It's a confidence interval consistent with not knowing the day and hour of His Return, yet consistent with knowing the season.  In fact, we are told that Day will not overtake us (who know Jesus) as a thief.

1 Thessalonians 5:4

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

Mat 24:36

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

Matthew 24:42

Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

Matthew 25:13

Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

To the church in Sardis, Jesus says:

Revelation 3:3

Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

Jesus wept over Jerusalem because they did not know the time of their Visitation:

Luke 19:44

“and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

6 Days of History and the 7th Day

One of the hints indicating the 7th millennium or Day of the Lord is coming soon, at the conclusion of the last 2 days between Jesus' Ascension and Return, is the obvious correlation of history to 6000 years or 6 days.  But if God ordained 6000 years, shouldn't it be exact?  James Ussher, Johannes Kepler, and Isaac Newton each calculated the date of Creation to be very close to 4000 years (± 4 years) before the Birth of Jesus.  If Jesus will return 2000 years after He ascended, how can we account for 30 years + 3.5 years between Jesus' Birth and Ascension?  This 33.5 year segment is large enough to be outside the ± 4 year tolerance.

Possible meanings for the 33.5 year segment:

  • It could highlight an interlude where God "paused" the stop-watch of His-Story.
  • It could be the time Adam lived a sinless life in the Garden, before the Fall.
  • It could be related to a change in orbital period at the Flood, which can account for 33.5 years. How?  Keep reading.

During the interval between the date of the Flood (1656 years after Creation) and the 4000 year mark, the 360-day calendar and the current Solar calendar reach a discrepancy of 33.49 years (or 33.64 years):

(4000-1656)-(4000-1656)*(69/70) = 33.49

If this is correct, Jesus' Birth is 4000 "perfect" 360-day years after Creation and He was crucified and rose again 4000 Solar years after Creation.  During the first 1656 years, 360-day years and Solar years would be the same, then after the Flood, Solar years would lag behind "perfect" 360-day years.  In truth, this timeline could be exactly consistent with the Ussher's date of Creation because of the basic assumptions his date relies on.

In fact, many well-known individuals throughout history have suggested dates of Creation at slightly more recent than 4000 BC:

Venerable Bede 3952 BC
Martin Luther 3960 BC
Philip Melanchton 3963 BC
Bishop Ussher 4004 BC
John Lightfoot 3929 BC
Isaac Newton 4000 BC
Johannas Kepler 3992 BC
Joseph Justus Scaliger 3949 BC
AVERAGE: 3968.6 BC

The average of those dates matches very closely with a 4000 Solar year span between Creation and the year Jesus was crucified, rose again, and ascended into Heaven.

Coming Soon

If there are 2000 years (2 Days or 40 Sabbatical weeks) between His Ascension into Heaven (4000 years after Creation) and Return from Heaven (6000 years after Creation), and if there is minimal time between the Rapture and start of the 70th Week from Daniel's prophecy (Tribulation), then a likely window for the Rapture could easily be 2023 - 2028.  In other words, soon!

(-1 ± 2) + 33.5 + 2000 - 7 = 2025.5 ± 2

Let the thought sink in.  If you knew there was a high probability you will meet the Lord within 4 years, how would you live?  We've always been accountable to be watching for His Return; how much more now that simple math might indicate it is close?

Two Timelines of History

When did the 360-day calendar reach 6000 years or 6 Days?  Very near to the year Jerusalem became unified and fully controlled by Israel. Was it in 1967, at the 6 Day War, that the Fig Tree began to put forth leaves?

1656 + (4000-1656+2000-1) * (360/365.24219) - 4000 - 1 + 32 = 1967.7

Other numerical considerations

The span of 1656 years between the Fall of Man (presumably when time as we know it began) and the Flood is based on a simplest-possible calculation which assumes each individual in the ancestral line after Adam to Noah was born on the same day of the year as when Adam Fell.  This makes 1656 a good starting-point and it may be correct.  It's also possible that we can infer truncated fractions of years in each generation, and a value of 1661 years may be closer to the correct date (see footnote 1 of Timeline of the Flood).  Correcting the error in the span of years to the Flood has a very small impact on the overall timeline, but could provide new insights through greater precision.

One interesting result of a 360-day year is the sum of gestational periods between Adam and Noah add up to exactly 7 years.  I don't how how that is relevant, but if you know, send me an email!  You can ask the Lord for wisdom, since He has promised the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth.  Possible reference to the Tribulation?

If you're curious, here are some other intriguing numerical relationships that might merit further scrutiny:

  • If the span of years between the Flood and the Resurrection & Ascension is 2345 instead of 2344, the discrepancy when applying the 69/70 ratio becomes exactly 33.5 years.
  • If the span of years between the Fall and Flood is actually 1660 years, the span of years between the Flood and future date 2000 years after Jesus' Ascension becomes 4340, which is 62 * 70.  Additionally, multiplying 4340 by 69/70 results in an integer value 4278.
  • If the span of years between the Fall and Flood is actually 1670 years, and if Jesus' ministry on Earth lasted 1200 days, there would also be an integer value relationship.
  • The span of time required to reach an exact 33.5 year difference between 360-day years and Solar years is 2334 Solar years, which might point to a conspicuous flood date: 4000 - 2334 = 1666.  "As it was in the days of Noah"?!?
Conclusion

We know the 6th Day or 6000th year of human history is fast coming to a close, so we should be looking up!  The Trumpet of God will be sounding very soon.

If you have not yet admitted to God that you are a sinner and believed that Jesus is God and that He paid for your sin on the cross, then do not delay in calling out to Him!  He will wash you and give you a new heart and the hope of eternal life in Heaven.
