The Day of the Lord
Disclaimer: this is just the tip of the iceberg. It makes my head spin as I read so many verses with interconnected themes. Dig into the Bible for yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you; don't just rely on this.
Throughout the Bible there are references to the coming Day of the Lord. The word day in Scripture can be used symbolically to reference an era, like its usage in today's English. When we understand that Scripture was written by the Holy Spirit and contains symbols carrying precise meaning, we understand that each of the multiple meanings of day can be understood precisely.
Another way to look at it, prophecies are often self-similar or fractal and point to more than one scale of fulfillment.
At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus provided a definition of the time-period of His First Coming by reading a specific section of this pre-written synopsis pointing to Him. The time-period of His First Coming spans the time up to, but not including, the day of vengeance of our God.
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, |
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; |
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” |
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, |
|
And the day of vengeance of our God; |
Peter specifically connects the time-period leading up to the day of the Lord with the explanation that a day refers to 103 years:
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Jesus repeatedly explained that He would be killed and rise again the third day. Some references He made to this are clearly referring to the 24 hour days He would be in the grave and His resurrection on the third day. Some references to the third day appear to point to the final day of the Lord.

Luk 12:46 “the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. Luk 17:24 “For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. |
Mat 26:29 “But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom.” |
Mar 14:25 “Assuredly, I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” |
Luk 22:18 “for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” |

Jhn 11:9

Raised Up (Raptured)
2Th 2:1-2
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.
1Th 4:15-17
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Jhn 6:39
“This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

Day of Judgement

Zechariah 14:1-4
Behold, the day of the LORD is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then the LORD will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south.
